What the authors reported
Two potentially eligible studies were found, one from Russia and one from the United States. The reviewers could not get enough information to judge how the studies were designed or conducted, and classified both as awaiting classification. They concluded there is currently no convincing evidence that N-acetylcarnosine drops reverse or prevent cataract progression.
Limits of this study
No data could be pooled. Both candidate studies are classed as awaiting classification because the reviewers could not get enough information on their design, and the authors had not replied when the review was written. Full text not read.
